Design of decatising satins and molletons of the highest quality
Decatising is one of the treatments for finishing high-end clothing fabrics in wool and wool blends, but in polyester also. The purpose of the treatment, also unsurprisingly called 'ennobling' is to give the clothing fabric its dimensional stability and finished appearance.
Decatising molletons and satin are used to protect the fabric that is to be treated and which is then steamed, either chemically and under pressure or not. The choice between satin and molleton is dictated by the result to be obtained: with the molleton, the volume more full-bodied.
